BELINDA REID
Belinda Reid evokes memory of place within landscapes created through the deconstruction and reconstruction of imagery using print processes and hand weaving. Captivated by the process of deconstruction and reconstruction of imagery within printmaking she has further explored and extended these processes within the digital construction of source imagery and through the slicing and weaving of her prints.

Q & A

For a long time, my study and work focused on scientific methods and effectively distanced my creative side. A calling to make art, however, is not something that is easy to ignore. I found printmaking, a methodical art form, to be a valuable bridge back to the processes of creativity. I went back to study, and what started as a structured process became a journey of intuition and immersion. The interplay between method refinement and the inevitable mistakes in the process of printmaking fostered an environment of experimentation. This dynamic exchange continues to challenge me, supporting growth as an artist and a printmaker.
